Ellen Jones

Ellen Jones is the North Carolina Medicaid Benefits Coordinator and Legal Assistant with The Elderlaw Firm since 2002. Before that, Ellen worked for over 12 years with the Department of Social Services, including many years handling Medicaid for nursing home cases. Ellen helps families to gather the necessary information to let us do our job. She also files applications on behalf of our clients for Medicaid and Special Assistance, in counties all over North Carolina.

Incredibly detail-oriented, Ellen has an amazing ability to assist our clients with gathering information and financial records they did not even realize existed. In addition, Ellen assists with legal research and drafts explanations about Medicaid for our clients. Some caseworkers at DSS tell us that Ellen actually makes their jobs easier by preparing some of the most comprehensive Medicaid applications they have ever seen! Ellen has a gift for guiding our clients through the maze of Medicaid qualification. Our clients regularly tell Dennis that Ellen made the whole process simple and understandable, so they could stop worrying and could instead tend to their loved one who needed care.

Ellen holds a bachelors degree in social work from High Point College. She and her husband Bob have a true green thumb, with gorgeous flowers and shrubs blooming at their home in Randolph County.
