Elder care law helps people worried about what happens if they need expensive senior care. Traditional estate planning focuses on what happens if a person dies, but more people are worried about what if they live a long time but become ill.
At The Elder Law Firm, our focus is on elder law estate planning. What we do is look at a family situation, determine what the best plan is going to be, to not only answer the question of “What happens when someone dies?” but even more importantly, what we want to focus on and really what most people worry about: “What happens if they live a long time?”
What happens if they live a long time, need care, where are they going to get that care, how are they going to pay for that care hopefully without going broke. And so, at the elder law firm, one of the things that we need to focus on, of course, is making sure that we’ve got the right plans in place to be able to have someone to make decisions for a person if they’re no longer capable of doing so, as well as protecting assets from the devastatingly high cost of long term care.
